Primary Bedroom Reno

TFW you finally aren’t sleeping on the floor anymore !

We knew our first major project to tackle at the house had to be our primary bedroom reno. While we ABSOLUTELY LOVE our new home, it wasn’t quite suited for our lifestyle & needs. If you’ve followed me for any period of time you know I have a serious shopping addiction for clothes and accessories… And let’s just say the 2 foot wide closets in a Victorian home weren’t exactly colliding well with that addiction.

My vision was to take these 2 front rooms in the house and turn them into one large primary suite with the walk in closet of my dreams. Sounds easy enough until you factor in a 120+ year old home construction and massive supply chain issues making it next to impossible to buy basically any type of prefab closet systems. We knew we’d have to go for a custom build out of the closet and we’d need help taking on this scale of project. We were super thankful to find an amazing contractor to take on the job, allowing me to dive solely into the design and sourcing end of the project.

Please take it from me, living through renos isn’t for the faint of heart or glamorous in any way… Your house will be an absolute mess from start to finish no matter how hard you try to stay on top of it… Just accept it and remind yourself that in the end it will all be worth it hahaha.

After 3 months of living through demo, build out, painting, floor refinishing and many uncomfortable nights of sleeping on our guest room floor (because our king bed frame wouldn’t fit in there lol) we’re finally able to settle into this dream space come to life! I’ll share a full cloet reveal with you guys in the next blog!
